Many people have ask me how I paint. Therefore I have taken a photo of my studio so I can hopefully explain the process a little better.
I paint on un-stretched canvas (or panel board) on a sheet of glass approximately 4 feet x 8 feet. The glass is sitting in a custom built table with drain holes in the corners for the water to escape.
After selecting and mixing the paint colours, I pour water over the canvas and then begin adding paint. I use a compressor or hair dryer to control and move the paint around. At times using gravity to control the process by sloping the table. I mix various types of paints together to in essence create a chemical interaction between them.
I work in harmony with the paint as it moves over the canvas, and forms intricate patterns. I use basic principles of aesthetics and design to create a final composition that I feel best reflects natural beauty.
